L5 Navigation: Automating Warehouse Label Printing and Reducing Human Error by 90% with ezeep and Zapier

L5 Navigation was manually printing four types of warehouse labels using four different tools, with errors compounding as the business grew across three countries. By connecting ezeep with Zapier, 90% of label printing is now fully automated, and ROI came within one to three months.

From Manual Labels to a Fully Automated Multi-Office Workflow

In the warehouse, four different types of labels needed to be printed using four different software tools. Serial labels with QR codes, barcode labels, marking stickers, and shipping labels each had their own workflow and their own opportunities for human error. The process was slow, fragmented, and getting worse as the business grew across three countries.

The Challenge

Before ezeep, L5 Navigation's warehouse team was manually inputting data into premade documents and printing them using several different software tools depending on the document type. Serial labels, QR/barcode labels, marking stickers, and shipping labels each required a separate workflow. The manual process was slow, error-prone, and fragmented across multiple applications.

"It has made our warehouse have a much better workflow and we also removed the bigger part of human mistakes since 90% is now automated."

The Solution

L5 Navigation implemented ezeep with Zapier to create a fully automated printing workflow across their warehouse operations. When a shipping or assembly event is triggered, Zapier automatically generates the correct label and sends it to the appropriate printer through ezeep.

"We have it set up so it auto prints whatever label we need when shipping and assembling different packages and products," says Ronny Gjersvold, Application Engineer at L5 Navigation. "It auto prints everything from serial labels with QR/barcodes to just simple marking stickers for packages."

A particularly valuable capability is cross-office printing. When someone in one office needs to create a shipping label for another location, they print it directly to a printer in that office rather than sending files back and forth.

"It also gives us the opportunity to work in one office but to print it directly to the office that needs it," says Gjersvold.

The company tested several alternatives before selecting ezeep. The deciding factors were ease of use and the strong Zapier integration.

The Outcome

"It has made our warehouse have a much better workflow and we also removed the bigger part of human mistakes since 90% is now automated," says Gjersvold.

Cross-office collaboration is smoother, and the company achieved ROI within one to three months. Gjersvold also notes that ezeep works well with printers that are "not supported" for simple print jobs, providing flexibility in hardware choices.

Why It Matters

The 90% automation figure is concrete and quotable. For any company with warehouse or fulfillment operations that involve repetitive label printing across multiple document types, the pattern here (event trigger, Zapier automation, ezeep prints to the right printer) is directly replicable. The cross-office printing capability demonstrates operational flexibility that goes beyond simple automation.
